In my opinion the answer is yes. In drainless tummy tucks, we use progressive tension sutures that not only close down the space and make putting a drain unnecessary but also the sutures help define the midline and the abs because of where we put the stitches. What should I do about this hyperpigmentation after Halo laser?

Swelling after Halo is normal and some pigment changes are well. We often use combination therapy of hydroquinone, a retinoid and a steroid for 2 weeks before treatment and will often resume after a week as long as there are no other issues. Wearing sunscreen and protecting the skin from cannot be stressed enough. This will help prevent any worsening of pigment issues. Best, Dr. Ali Instagram: @draliqureshi

I had implants in 1970 and still have them today. Should they be removed?

There is no right or wrong answer to this question. Just like women have the right to choose to have implants placed, they have the right to have them removed. Do you advise getting an explant and lift at the same time?

Animation Deformity. Will removing my implants fix this?

Animation deformity can be fixed with placing the muscle back down and the implants above the muscle. This can be camouflaged with fat grafting as a composite breast augmentation. We are learning more and more about Breast Implant Illness and many women in our practice have the implants removed and the capsule removed and feel better. There are cases of women having their implants removed with a partial or minimal capsulectomy who also have relief of symptoms. We commonly will remove the entire capsule, as a total capsulectomy and then fat graft the breast at the same time. A lift can also be performed at the same time. Most cases require more than one round of fat grafting because there is only so much that can be placed in one round without increasing the risk for fat necrosis and other complications. This sounds like animation deformity from having the implants put under the muscle, which can be done from an armpit incision. Usually the implant needs to be removed and replaced above the muscle or the muscle needs to be released more. Capsule can form around an implant anywhere in the body like the breast, knee or chin. Once a capsule forms, it doesnt just disappear because its your body's own reaction to a foreign object. Capsules can be hard or painful and can be removed. Sometimes the rubbing of once capsular surface on another can lead to fluid accumulation known as a seroma and may require drainage. Do Breast Implants always need to be removed if there are complications?

Superficial infections or cellulitis can often be treated with oral antibiotics as an outpatient. If there is pus or purulent drainage coming from the implant pocket, this means the bacteria may be around the implant. Because the implant does not have blood supply for antibiotics to get there, implants can become "seeded" with bacteria and the infection can persist, become chronic or lead to capsular contracture. When one is affected with PAH post CoolSculpting, is it obvious?

PAH is w known complication of Coolsculpting, is more common in men and Latinos and most common after a second round of treatment to the same area. PAH can present different ways and something I am familiar with from training. Patients have increased focal fat in the area of treatment without weight gain but physical examination to confirm the diagnosis are necessary. There are ways to treat this but only an exam can confirm a diagnosis of PAH. Hope this helps....

Sorry this is happening and can be frustrating to deal with. Some surgeons will recommend nasal irrigation and you can get the kits for this at a drug store. Sleeping with a humidifier can also actually help. Blowing the nose too hard can create a lot of pressure inside the nose and turbulent air flow and can sometimes cause issues depending on the kind of surgery you had. Hope this info helps.
