Can I show the doctor a picture of the eyeshape that I want and would they be able to make my eyes
eyelid surgery based on a photograph/cost
Mar 2, 2016
Photographs can be useful in conveying the type of results a patient desires.  However, a person's own bone and skin will limit the changes that are possible.  Esthetically, it is usually best to have the eyelids match in character with the other facial features.Quotes are difficult without understanding a patient's specific needs.  Upper and lower eyelid surgery often costs about $5000-6000 for professional fees, operating room and anesthesia fees.
Swelling getting worse 2 weeks after facelift. Is this normal?
swelling two weeks after facelift
Mar 2, 2016
Additional swelling may be related to the healing process (for example, firmness and swelling may develop after a couple weeks if a lot of fat has been removed).  You may also be more active and may not be applying cool compresses as much, so you may have more swelling than over the last week or so. It takes many months to one year for swelling to completely resolve.Numbness in the outer cheeks occurs in most facelifts initially. It may take several months to one year for the sensation to...
Can swelling under jawline be caused by submandibular gland surgery, or is it normal swelling from
swelling under jaw after facelift
Mar 2, 2016
Your question is a good one.  Different people have swelling resolve at different times.  Swelling lasts longer if fat removal is involved.  Some people heal more quickly than others.  On the other hand, enlarged or droopy submandibular glands can result in a swollen appearance in these areas. The best answer to your question is to see your plastic surgeon for an examination.
Can a woman 66 y.o have a mid Facelift with upper eyelid surgery and a Tummy tuck at he same time?
facelift with tummy tuck with blepharoplasty
Dec 18, 2015
Many patients are able to physically tolerate having their face and abdomen operated on at the same time. However, some considerations should be paid to how much time the surgery will take. For example, prolonged operations have higher risks of blood clots in the legs (deep venous thromboses), pulmonary emboli (blood clots in the lungs), infection and death. Also, surgeon fatigue may result in less than optimal results. Close consultations with a surgeon you trust will provide...
Does having more breast tissue initially allow for saline implants to feel a bit more natural?
natural feel for saline breast implants
Sep 9, 2015
Silicone in general feels more natural than saline. However, if you have a moderate amount of breast tissue covering the implants and if the implants are placed under the muscles, it is difficult or impossible to tell the difference between saline and silicone implants.
Slopping forehead?
sloping forehead
Sep 9, 2015
Your forehead has a normal slope. It looks natural and fits with the rest of your face well. I would not recommend any treatment.
After laceration to eyelid & area, sutures were completed by ER. Do I plan for reconstruction now
ER repair of eyelid laceration
Sep 9, 2015
Fortunately for you, most eyelid lacerations heal extremely well. The skin is thin, and the scars are usually correspondingly thin and flat. However, they still require about one year for final healing. As long as you are not allergic, the type of antibiotic cream should not matter. Sunscreen on the upper eyelids usually gets in the eyes, so I would use sunglasses rather than a sunscreen. You may want to see a plastic surgeon within the next month or two....
I want to get a bilateral brachioplasty and need to know how long I should stay out of work.
bilateral lifting brachioplasty
Sep 9, 2015
Good question. My wife is an occupational therapist, so I am familiar with the amount of physical labor involved in your profession. I would recommend that in general you avoid vigorous lifting for about six weeks. This will of course vary depending on the thickness of your skin, its blood supply, and the amount of skin removed.
Am I a candidate for lower blepharoplasty?
eyelid surgery at age noneteen
Aug 5, 2015
Some patients have a lot of puffiness of their lower eyelids from a very young age. This may be due to a membrane that is weak from birth. This membrane should keep the fat from protruding into the eyelids. Severe allergies may also cause protrusion of the fat at an early age. If the protrusion is considerable, eyelid surgery even at a young age is appropriate.
Is my breast tissue already fused to my implants at 5 weeks post op?
Form stable implants not dropping.
Aug 5, 2015
The form stable implants will likely not move much. Wearing the band is unlikely to cause any problems. I would ask your plastic surgeon if it is worth the minor inconvenience of wearing the band.
Are my implants bottoming out and should I consider more surgery?
left breast skin saggy after an augmentation
Aug 5, 2015
It is difficult to evaluate the thickness and resiliency of skin from a photograph. Only having limited information, it does seem that your plastic surgeon is correct that your breasts do appear much better. I would wait a least one year to get a better idea of the extent of the sagginess and whether there is a difference between the two sides.
My implants are high after 5.5 months. Any suggestions?
pec-like breasts after an augmentation and mastopexy
Aug 5, 2015
You are early in the healing process, so as long as the implants are not textured they may descend. Massaging to stretch the tissues in your lower breasts and gravity will usually cause more fullness in the lower breasts. I would not consider surgery for most patients until they are one year after surgery.
Is it normal for breasts to change shape during the recovery process?
oval-shaped breasts
Aug 5, 2015
It is difficult to provide an accurate diagnosis and therefore an appropriate treatment plan based on photographs. Massage and a different bra may stretch the healing tissues around the implants and provide a more natural-appearing breast shape. It appears there has been some tightening on the side of the implants. You are still in an early healing phase, and changes can occur to improve the shape of your breasts.
I am 38 yrs old. I'm 5'3" and 195 lbs. Would I be a candidate for an arm lift and a tummy tuck? (P
tummy tuck and arm lift after losing 45 pounds
Aug 5, 2015
Your weight loss after having three children is impressive. You may want to make sure that your weight is stable for a least six months before proceeding with surgery. A significant weight gain negates many of the benefits of body contouring surgery. The abdominoplasty is likely to be a "win-win" procedure, with the scar being in the lower abdomen and easy to hide in clothing. However, your arm scar would probably be easy to detect, somewhat wide, and difficult to hide.
Is it okay to drink water with the pills they prescribe you to take before Breast Augmentation sur
water with pills
Aug 5, 2015
It is fine to swallow the pills with a small sip of water. In addition, studies have shown that patients have less nausea and vomiting after surgery if they have a small amount of a clear liquid (less than 1/2 cup) up to four hours before general anesthesia.
