You seem fairly astute when it comes to your nasal anatomy, aesthetics, and possible treatment methods.  Augmenting various parts of a nose, including the radix, can often easily be done with injectable fillers.  I would recommend something that is known to be fairly short term, temporary, and reversible (ie. an HA like Juvederm or Restylane) at first.  This would give you the opportunity to see if you like what you see.  If so, you could then continue with injections or step it up to a surg…

Generally, non-surgical rhinoplasty is fairly limited on the alterations that can be made to the shape of a nose.  It works fairly well for someone that has a low projecting dorsum (like you) or someone with a limited dorsal hump.  It can also be used to add limited projection to the tip of the nose and it is also fairly reliable at correcting minor asymmetrical features.  From what I can tell, by looking at your photos, the changes that could be made would be very limited.  If you plan on b…

Autologous cartilage (cartilage from your own body) taken from your ear, septum, or rib are great sources for grafts that can be used to augment, reconstruct, or support the nasal skeletal framework during rhinoplasty surgery because they are natural and will usually last your lifetime.  Occasionally, they can warp or grow just like the cartilage that is already a part of your nose.

Rhinoplasty surgery can certainly reshape your nose and put it in better proportion to surrounding facial features.  Generally, it is more challenging to create refined features with higher definition in someone that has thicker skin and changes that are made will be more gradual over time than in people that have thinner skin.  All of the problems that you are describing are routine for a Plastic Surgeon that does a lot of rhinoplasties.

It appears that you would be a good candidate for a rhinoplasty. From the photos it appears that while your profile is pretty nice the “front on photo” shows a nose that it is disproportionately wide.  These are often classic features of an African American nose.  Your nasal bones and nostrils are flared and should be narrowed.  The tip of your nose also seems somewhat full and “bulbous”.  This too, can be made more streamline with rhinoplasty surgery.  I recommend consulting with a plas…
