After a blunt injury to the nose, patients will have an episode of bleeding. This in of itself does not mean that the bones are broken. A nasal fracture (broken nose) is associated difficulty breathing for days after the injury, crookedness of nose (remaining after swelling resolved), or severe pain when touching the nasal bones. A good physical examination and possible X-rays will help determine if a fracture occurred and if any intervention is necessary.

Rhinoplasty recovery is usually 1-2 weeks. Within one week, the bandages are removed and most patients can return back to their normal routine with some swelling in place. Any bruising is usually resolved after one week. Patients can start to wear make-up at this time as well. Exercise is allowed after 2 weeks.

It is common to get milia (white bumps) after blepharoplasty (eyelid lift). These tend to come and go for several months. However, based on this image, this does not appear to be milia but inflammation. It is possible to get a small cyst along the suture line or suture abscess either of which can cause redness and tenderness. These are often treated with a small incision to drain or antibiotics.
