Unhappy upper bleph. Advice?
unhappy at 5 months
May 5, 2021
There does appear to be some improvement, however if you are hoping for more improvement, and you are not pleased with your interaction with your surgeon, I would recommend seeing a board certified facial plastic surgeon to discuss. You may be able to take more skin on upper eyelid and brow lift if brows are low, which they may be but is difficult to tell on photos.
What surgery do I need to get rid of my scleral show? What happens in the surgery and what type of eye
scleral show
May 5, 2021
Hello – It is difficult to determine from just 2 front photos. However, it may what you have suggested, that your eyes are pushed forward and up. This can sometimes be associated with other things, so I would recommend that you be seen by a board certified facial plastic surgeon to evaluate this and they can discuss your options. That may include surgery on the bones around your eye and not your eyelids.
Any doctors out there that treat enophthalmos? What are my options?
enophthalmos
Apr 26, 2021
Hello – is the enophthalmos due to previous trauma? There is the option of surgery to put an implant on the floor of the orbit that can correct the defect created by trauma. If not due to trauma, then it is possible to get a CT scan to evaluate the mid facial and orbital skeleton to see the difference. Implants can be built to gain symmetry. This would be a very involved process and I would suggest meeting with a board certified facial plastic surgeon that is comfortable with reconstructive…
Preventing eyelid drooping with age?
asymmetric brow
Apr 26, 2021
Hello – it is actually quite common for people to have asymmetric height of the brow. If you are able to correct this with botox to lift the brow slightly, then that is great and generally all you can do at this point. If you notice the eyelid itself drooping, then that is a different issue called ptosis and sometimes requires a surgery to correct. In time, you may find that you will benefit from a brow lift with asymmetric lift to try and create more symmetry at rest.
How do I correct my deformed asymmetrical eyes and face?
Asymmetrical face
Apr 26, 2021
Hello – it is very common for people to have asymmetry to the face. With just seeing one photo and not being able to evaluate anything else, it seems like this may be due to the bone structure, which is often the case. However, you would really have to see a board certified facial plastic surgeon to evaluate the eyes, and cheek structures to determine the source of the asymmetry. There are various fillers or facial implants that may be able to help improve the symmetry.
Is it possible to lighten under eyes circles after blepharoplasty?
dark circles under eyes
Apr 26, 2021
Dark circles under the eyes, particularly in pigmented skin or darker skin tones, can be very difficult to change/treat. If it is darker due to a shadow that rests in a groove between the eyelid and cheek (nasojugal groove or tear trough) a filler in the area or blepharoplasty/fat grafting can help. If it is not due to a shadow, it is likely the pigment of that skin and it is usually not able to be improved very much. One could try a lightening cream like hydroquinone, but that often times…
Do fillers damage or dissolve facial bone?
Chin anatomy
Mar 6, 2021
Hello- HA fillers are being injected into the chin for augmentation. These fillers are injected deeper than those in the nasolabial folds or lips. The chin filler is injected deep by the bone, so yes, I think it natural to wonder if this could be changing the bone structure. There is no evidence of this and it would seem to be very unlikely. Chin implants can alter the bone very slightly, but this can be minimized with appropriate techniques. The layers at the chin from surface to bone are-…
What facial procedures (preferably permanent) would help my seemingly saggy/droopy face?
Facial volume changed
Mar 6, 2021
Hello- from the pictures you submitted I would agree that changes in facial volume would help. You are still young, so some of the things you note (asymmetry, decrease volume in cheeks) are related to soft tissue, but also skeletal. You could consider facial implants including sub malar and chin. If you want to keep it simpler, you could do fillers, either fat or hyaluronic acid or both. It seems that adding volume to chin as well as cheek region would help.
What treatments are best for my under eye wrinkles and hollows?
Under eye wrinkles
Mar 6, 2021
Hello- as you have correctly noted, these wrinkles are not crows feet and Botox won’t really help. As you also correctly note, the lines are worsened with facial movements associated with smiling, so Botox would have to stop your smile and you would never want to do that! You could try a prescription topical with Retin-A. That can help with fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes. Resurfacing with laser or a peel can help as we’ll. Finally, the groove under the eyelid is starting to be mor…
How not to end up with projected lips?
lip filler technique
Feb 8, 2021
Hello – I would guess that you have tried it again by this point, but in case others have similar questions and come across this Q&A I will answer your very good question! In general, with lip filler, I have found it best to almost always include some filler at the vermilion, if not most of the injection at this level. It helps to define the border of the lip, accentuate the vermilion to offset the red lip from the skin and also help provide height as you suggested. For balance, it appears…
Filler and sinus infection pressure and migraines? Could this filler have exasperated my cold to a ful
filler and sinus infection
Feb 8, 2021
Hello – obviously you are likely way past having these symptoms at this point, but in case anyone else searches the site with similar questions, here is an answer. Filler in the tear trough would be very unlikely to contribute to a sinus infection. The sinus cavity is below the bone and the filler/needle can not penetrate the bone to cause any type of reaction. Headaches can be the result of a broad range of contributors, so it would be more difficult to consider that. Other than to say that…
Can I ever have symmetry?
facial asymmetry
Feb 8, 2021
Hello – what you are noticing is likely even down to the level of the bone structure. I truth, most people have some degree of asymmetry in their face, it is just more noticeable in some more than others. The underlying facial skeleton may be different, the volume of fat may be different, we even age differently with loss of volume on one side more than other and degree of sun exposure (the left usually gets more sun from driving). Subtle improvements can be made with filler. It will really…
Should I remove or add on my cheeks?
more filler or removal
Feb 8, 2021
Hello – I would say it depends on which side you like better! As I view the photos it looks like your right side has more volume than left, If you like that side, I would try to match it with more volume. If you like the left side better, than you may try to dissolve the right. If concerned about hollowing in temple, you can always add filler there.
Will filler in temples help achieve an eyebrow lift?
subtle lateral brow lift
Feb 8, 2021
A filler in the temple will likely not achieve what it seems you are looking for. I understand your thought on this, like Volume replaces volume in cheek and gives a subtle lift as well, would volume in temple help lift the brow. You are young and have likely not lost a lot of volume in your temple yet, so volume does not need to be “replaced” there. You may consider botox in the lateral obicularis just under the lateral brow. This can often times give a subtle lift in that area. There is no…
Would I be a successful candidate for a lower facelift and neck lift?
volume!!!
Jan 18, 2021
You are definitely correct, it appears that you have lost a lot of volume in your mid face. I do think you could undergo a facelift, however it is also important to add volume. I would plan to do fat grafting to the mid face, nasolabial folds, marionettes lines and maybe even the chin a little. This would provide a nice foundation of filling and you may still need to add some down the road with HA filler, but it won’t be as much. The facelift will help a great deal in the neck line and…
