Answer Snippet
What is needed to get done to improve my side profile?
Chin Augmentation
May 9, 2023
I believe a chin augmentation would best improve your profile. There are a variety of shapes and sizes available, with the overall goal being better balance without sacrificing femininity.
Tip rhinoplasty for my short, bulbous tip and wide alar base - would this be a complex surgery? (Pho
Lengthening Rhinoplasty
Aug 9, 2022
It is possible to lengthen a short nose, while simultaneously narrowing and enhancing tip definition. This procedure would also reduce nostril flare. This is on the more complex side of what nose surgeons do, but not nearly as complicated as the revision procedures many of us perform.
Age 23, can chin implant be removed & will chin return to pre-op state?
The Earlier, The Better
Jun 6, 2022
Earlier removal of the implant generally has a better outcome. In a young patient, like yourself, there is a better chance that the soft tissue will contract back to its original shape.
Recommendations on eyelid lift procedures and facial/eyebrow symmetry. What procedure is best? (phot
Upper and Lower Blepharoplasty
May 5, 2022
I would recommend a volume-reduction upper blepharoplasty and a transconjunctival lower blepharoplasty with fat repositioning.
Rhinoplasty - are there any options other than revision to make my nose more straight?
Revision Surgery Can Be Tricky
Mar 2, 2022
Revision surgery can be tricky and it is best to take a very focused approach, if possible. In your case, it may be possible to straighten the columella through an internal approach without disturbing the rest of your nose.
I'm 21 and want my eyes to look less tired. Options?
HA Filler
Jan 14, 2022
Lower eyelid dark circles are affected by volume loss (with or without fat bags), thin skin, and hyperpigmentation. From the photos you have provided, it looks like volume loss is a big factor for you and you may benefit from hyaluronic acid (HA) filler injections to the area. HA comes in different varieties and it is important that the product you use does not absorb too much water, otherwise the filler can create an overly-swollen look.
What can I do about my chin/lower face?
Prejowl Chin Implant
Nov 8, 2021
From your description and photos, I would recommend a prejowl chin implant. Patients who have never had a nice jawline (even in their youth) often have a bony deficiency in the prejowl area (the part of the jawline just in front of the jowl) that makes it look like they have heavier jowls. This implant will create a smoother jawline. This can be coupled with a submentoplasty (a procedure that addresses neck laxity and fullness) to also sharpen the neckline.
Can you replace a chin implant with a larger sized implant?
Yes
Oct 19, 2021
In most cases, you can replace a smaller chin implant with a larger one. Scar tissue tissue will not normally restrict this process.
Can you get cheek implants after a face lift?
Cheek Implants After A Facelift
Sep 27, 2021
Augmenting cheek volume will likely only enhance the results of a facelift. Sometimes we like to do these procedures at the same time as aging often involves both volume loss and increased laxity.
I'm in my early 20s but have awful eye bags. What is the best treatment filler or surgery?
Undereye Bags
Aug 10, 2021
Fillers are good for patients who have dark circles due to volume loss but without a significant eyelid bag. Injecting fillers in a patient with significant eyelid bags can lead to the bag looking even bigger! These patients benefit most from surgery.
Would I be eligible for a tip plasty?
Yes
Jul 15, 2021
You would be a good candidate for a tip rhinoplasty. There are multiple ways to reduce a bulbous tip to better match the width of your bridge. Tip rhinoplasties cost less than full rhinoplasties and have less recovery time.
Imaging the day before surgery?
For Rhinoplasty, Yes
Jun 29, 2021
Imaging is an essential part of my practice both for having a common visual goal between the surgeon and patient, and also for planning purposes for the surgeon. When performing computer imaging, I think about every move I would make in surgery to get the desired result. With this approach, I hope my imaging is more realistic. I do imaging only for procedures that "transform" a patient, i.e. fundamentally change the way a patient looks (e.g. rhinoplasty, chin implants). This helps ensure to...
Revision rhinoplasty to widen nasal bones and bridge?
Yes, it's possible.
Jun 7, 2021
Yes, it is possible to widen the upper bridge during revision rhinoplasty. This requires mobilizing the "side panels" of the bridge and then placing cartilage grafts that will allow the bones to heal in a wider position. This will also likely improve your breathing.
Would I benefit from an upper blepharoplasty on just one eye?
Would Not Recommend
May 24, 2021
I would not recommend a blepharoplasty on one eye at this time. The greater heaviness on one side appears to be due to increased brow elevation on the less heavy side. The cause for this may be eyelid ptosis and the best way to diagnose this is through an in-person examination. If this is the case, a ptosis repair would be best.
Is it safe to get nose fillers after 2 rhinoplasty?
Yes
May 18, 2021
Yes, you can use filler prior to your revision, however, all the filler should be 'gone' at the time of the procedure. For this reason, I suggest using a hyaluronic acid filler that will not last too long. Your surgeon can help you plan the time frame.
