Masseter botox injection last week and it’s been about 7 – 8 days now and so far no
Time Needed For Results

Hi Christine: It takes some time (at least 1 month) to see the results of this treatment. The masseter muscles can vary in size and muscle strength in different patients, and results can be variable depending on the quantity of botox used. I typically use between 15-30 units of Botox per side, depending on the patient.

Active Acne and Old Scarring
Feb 17, 2017
Feb 17, 2017
Hi Uzcuzz,
It looks like you have evidence old old acne scars as well as active acne of moderate intensity. In order to prevent further scarring, a course of isotretinoin (Accutane or Absorica) would be recommended as a permanent end to minimizing this active acne. The price of this medication depend on your insurance coverage, but can be as little as $5/month.
Hope this helps!

I just received 2 units of botox right under the tip of my nose and my dry mouth fee
Unlikely

Hi Beth:
I agree with Dr. Nayak. I would not wager that 2 units of Botox could cause excessive dry mouth — this is a rather low dose injected in a location that does not produce saliva. Your parotid glands produce most of the saliva, and these are located at the angle of your jaw and extending in front of your lower ear — far away from the location injected.
Dry mouth may be best addressed by your Board-Certified ENT Doctor.
Hope this…

Is an allergic reaction to Botox in your eyes normal?
Allergy is Rare

Hi Am: Allergic reaction to Botox is very uncommon. I am unsure of exactly where or how much was injected but I would certainly return to your doctor for evaluation. Mild bruising and swelling can occur commonly with any injection around the eye.
Just make sure that the injector is either a Board-Certified Dermatologist or Plastic Surgeon with appropriate training in aesthetics.
Thanks,
–Dr. Claiborne

Eyebrows are not symmetrical! One of my eyebrows is higher than the other, so how do
Quite common, but can be addressed
Feb 16, 2017
Feb 16, 2017
Hi — This asymmetry can be easily fixed with neuromodulators such a Botox, Xeomin, or Dysport. This is quite common and many people often live their entire lives without ever noticing it. Very few people’s faces are perfectly symmetric. Sometimes eyebrow waxing or plucking techniques can make this asymmetry worse. Your Board-Certified Dermatologist or Plastic Surgeon would be best equipped to address this issue.
Thanks,

What do you recommend for treatment of my acne scarring on my cheeks?
Lasers first!

There are a multitude of scar remodeling options available with varying degrees of involvement and cost. I wold encourage you to choose an option depending on how much it bothers you. We often combine techniques for optimal results. Fractionated facial resurfacing (such as Fraxel) is moderately involved but has significantly less downtime and fewer potential side effects than older ablative resurfacing options (such as CO2). It would be my first choice. Dermabrasion can get good…
