Rhinoplasty is not an easy operation, and rhinoplasty discussions can be even more difficult.
Thoughts of how you might look with the bump reduced can be as unnerving as a hair cut with just a little off the top.
There are very many rhinoplasty options, and the trick is discovering the right ones for you.
Computer imaging a a great way to ‘try out’ changes and find the best look for you. (Peter E. Johnson, MD, Chicago Plastic Surgeon)
Rhinoplasty for bump and profile refinement, and reducing bulbous tip along with the straightening of your septum is all you need and will produce a much softer appearance.
The surgeon may suggest a chin implant for your receded chin. (Toby Mayer, MD, Beverly Hills Facial Plastic Surgeon)
There is no easy nose job (rhinoplasty) from the perspective that it is oftentimes the most noticed feature on a person’s face. Therefore “getting it right” is a complex combination of art and science.
What can be more important than the complexity or the skill needed to perform a good rhinoplasty is the thorough examination by your surgeon both of your goals and your actual nose.
Her or her ability to match what you envision in your head is probably the most challenging part of nasal surgery or plastic surgery in general.
Therefore I would make sure that you are very comfortable with your surgeon and have your questions answered to your satisfaction. (Tito Vasquez, MD, FACS, Southport Plastic Surgeon)
Complicated Rhinoplasty
There are degrees of difficulty when it comes to rhinoplasty. Yours falls in the middle difficulty level. Your bridge can be reduced as well as your tip, proportionately. The best way for you to make your decision is to have your nose computer imaged.
You can send your photos to the website below and we can image them for you. This will give you a good Idea of what your nose will look like after surgery. (Oleh Slupchynskyj, MD, FACS, New York Facial Plastic Surgeon)
Crooked nose deformity
Breanne Crooked nose deformity along with correction of the likely crooked septum is a challenging case even for an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon.
The biggest challenge is straightening and keeping the middle 1/3 of these straight along with transitioning well into the bony upper 1/3rd of the nose. Typically removing the hump, followed by taking the septum apart and removing the crooked portion, followed by using the cartilage from the septum to build up and straighten the middle 1/3 as spreader grafts and then addressing the tip is required.
I personally also address other internal airway issues at the same surgery. I have no problem sending the septum and airway work bill to the insurance company and working out the cosmetic portion of the bill with the patient. (Stefan Mark Szczerba, MD, Chicago Plastic Surgeon)
There is no simple rhinoplasty.
All nose jobs are complex and you need a well qualified rhinoplastic surgeon. Only simple surgeons do simple surgery. (William B. Rosenblatt, MD, New York Plastic Surgeon)
Is this a complicated rhino?
Over the internet very hard to determine the exact operation you may need. Seek in person evaluations from boarded surgeons. I believe a full rhino/septaloplasty in indicated IF you have septal issues. Also as Dr Mayer states a possible chin implant and sub mental liposuction is what I might add to the operation. (Darryl J. Blinski, MD, Miami Plastic Surgeon)
No this is not a complicated Rhinoplasty
If you have a deviated nasal septum then this needs to be addressed to improve your breathing this often times helps slightly with the appearance by straightening the nose. If both the cosmetic and functional aspects are addressed in conjunction this is called septorhinoplasty. You do have a hump on the nose that should be improved. A nice straight dorsum that gives you a natural appearance and keeps the facial aesthetics in line is important. It is not uncommon that one side of the profile is different then the other, we see this daily during consultations. When using a digital imaging computer you see this on a frontal view to a larger extreme when you place both left or both right sides of the face together. As a Facial Plastic Surgeon this is what we deal with. Asymmetry is a common complaint and through surgery we bring symmetry to the face. If you go to my website I am sure you will see many noses that have a nice natural alteration without being a cookie cutter nose. Each nose should be addressed to match each persons face. You are an excellent candidate for Rhinoplasty and should have a very successful result in the hands of a skilled surgeon. Multifaceted Rhinoplasty Needed
Your rhinoplasty will not be complicated but multifaceted addressing different areas of your nose. First, your deviated septum will be fixed through a septa-rhinoplasty. Second, your nasal bump could be removed and your bridge would be straightened most likely through an osteotomy. Third, a de-projection of your nasa tip is necessary to bring the modifications together and to have your nose be as natural as possible and better fit your face.
All in all, it is important that a natural look be preserved through the rhinoplasty bringing the best of your facial features. It is common that nasal asymmetries be exhibited differently comparing profile photos of a given patient; this is why an in-person evaluation is crucial to discuss and have the best fit surgical plan for you. That being said, please remember that commendable results require an exceptionally skilled surgeon to perform the surgery and settling for anything less than that increases the chances of additional corrective surgeries dramatically.
