Is it normal for the surgeon’s terms & conditions to read as follows?
Social Media Reviews
Feb 3, 2023
Gosh that wording seems pretty paranoid yet one should realize that many good plastic surgeons have been held hostage by vitriolic smears, even when the result is a reasonable result but not a perfect result. Patient confidentiality regulations make it impossible for a surgeon to post actual results that might [to the general public] look much better than what a dissatisfied patient might claim on the web…there is no way for a demeaned doctor to state his or her case when the jury of…
Do I have a dorsal hump or saddle nose deformity?
Hump
Feb 3, 2023
You certainly don’t have a saddle nose which is a collapse of most of the bridge. You have a classic bony/cartilaginous hump proceeded by a slight dip at the Nasion [beginning of the nasal bones at the eye level] and followed distally by a supra-tip break which dips a bit as the hump tapers off and the large over projected tip begins to dominate. Much more readily treatable of a problem…but find a skilled surgeon and avoid filler [ so called “nonsurgeical rhinoplasty” which would give you…
Should I get rhinoplasty and chin implant at same time?
Rhinoplasty with chin
Feb 3, 2023
I usually perform rhinoplasty and chin augmentation [when indicated] at the same surgery since it decreases patient cost and overall recovery time. Most surgeons discount the chin when done simultaneously and instead of spending a few weeks recovering for two separate procedures, it is all behind you after on recovery period. It is perfectly safe to do together. Good luck :-).
Will dissolving nose filler placed 1 yr post rhinoplasty cause changes or can it be restored to what
Dissolve filler in nose
Feb 3, 2023
Hyaluronidase is the enzyme that will dissolve the filler and it may incompletely do so [which might actually be what you want]. Bruised cartilage may do a better job and is permanent yet requires, of course, a revision [touch up] surgery. Rhinoplasty is difficult and there is a 10-20% touch incidence even with the best rhinoplasty surgeons. Good luck 🙂
I got rhinoplasty a month and half ago, does my tip look like it’s already dropping?? Hump back?? I h
Thick Skin and Hump Reduction
Apr 9, 2019
Although a definitive opinion can’t be given with the few pictures you provide, there are certain generalities that might help. There is a limit to how much thick skin will shrink to match the reduced bony cartilaginous framework. When this thick skin gathers, it tends to be at the supra-tip area where the skin wants to “bow-string” from the reduced bridge to the tip, thus obscuring the desired supra-tip break. Edema fluid accumulates under this elevated skin and eventually edema gives way…
I just was curious how my nose ended up this way?
Pollybeak
Mar 20, 2019
It is tremendously disappointing to have a realistic expectation of improvement and to experience little improvement and perhaps worsening of the overall gestalt of the nose. Not to say the surgeon did anything wrong and certainly not beneath the standard of care, yet there may be things that could have been done better. In nay case, this is not one of those noses that you have to wait 6-12 months to know that there is too much hanging columella and alar retraction and nostril show and…
The dorsal hump can it be an easy fix without going trough another operation?
Dorsal Hump
Mar 20, 2019
It is surprising to me that you had not resolved the issue of reducing your hump prior to undergoing a rhinoplasty. Perhaps you emphasized the tip problems and desired to have minimal change or wanted your ethnic look to remain…in any case you have a hump. I think injectables are a poor cousin to surgery and often make a large nose look bigger. In your case, since the take-off of your nose is already high and close to your eyebrows, and your forehead appears to slope; there is a danger in…
Is my tip turned a little upward or is it just me?
Tip Rotation
Dec 11, 2018
It is hard for me to tell if you had a silicone “L” shaped implant placed because your profile picture is not well presented and I can’t tell if you have had a bridge augmentation. It is a common undesirable side effect of those implants to create a tip projection that is too rotated. Whether or not you had an implant augmentation or a reductive rhinoplasty, It does appear from your oblique view that the angle between your upper lip and your columella and tip is excessive and you have more…

Swollen Tip
Dec 11, 2018
Please listen to the doctors who have responded and realize that:1) You are not crazy and your tip is swollen 2) you will drive yourself crazy if you keep focusing on your tip size and your anxiety about it will not make your nose get smaller. 3) Not a single one of us surgeons wants to be judged by our rhinoplasty tips at 22 days because the tip always holds onto swelling longer than the rest of the nose and especially after open rhinoplasty. 4) The tip will no doubt be much less…
Is it possible to narrow the radix area with osteotomies or other methods without lowering it?
Narrowing the Radix
Dec 11, 2018
I agree with Dr. Wong that augmentation is the best way to narrow the radix. Lateral osteotomies must avoid the Lacrimal bone and typically will only narrow the bony bridge where it flares out below the radix. It is common for Asians who have a flat and low and wide appearing dorsum and radix to have silicone implants placed to, not only raise the bridge, but also to narrow the dorsum and radix and, as a side effect, it give the illusion of bringing the eyes more closely together [which is a…
After a radix reduction, Can the nasal bone appear crooked from frontal view because of complications
Radix Reduction
Dec 11, 2018
The answer is yes…you can have a crookedness or irregularity after any facture, although I have not seen this occur at the radix level [which is typically between the eyes]. Perhaps you mean a displaced fragment or incomplete fracture of the bony dorsum which is not uncommon and is a bit further down the bridge toward the nasal tip. I agree with other respondents that it is not a common practice to reduce the radix yet it is indicated when the nose has an unwanted high [Greco-Roman]…
What should I get done on my nose?
Hanging Columella
Dec 11, 2018
I think the first thing to realize is that you are an attractive young lady and please don’t feel that you “should” do something about your nose. Having said that, I suspect you feel that your nose is not your most attractive feature and that is probably true. Now, if you are committed to having a cosmetic rhinoplasty, I will make some suggestions that are more specific that some of the other answers. (Of course only a hands-on in-person consult can give you a truly detailed plan): 1)….
Can I achieve a more narrow and less bulbous nose with thick Asian skin?
Asian rhinoplasty

Hello,

Yes, these are achievable without rib grafting. Increasing projection of the tip should bedone using cartilage only since it should move independent from the bridge. What Is The Proper Way For Me To Clean The Dried Mucus Out Of My Nose 3 Weeks Post-Op?
cleaning nostrils

Best of Luck,

Avoiding exercise and hot tubs and such stimulation and strategic post op
taping can definitely limit and guide the…
